OMG- So Excited!

My Teddy layout won a prize on Scrap Our Stash!  I honestly never expected it to win anything, I do it mostly for the fun and because the challenges help me get pages done!

I am so honored.

June Sketch Challenge

Today I worked on this layout of my nephew, Teddy for the June Sketch Challenge from Scrap Our Stash.

I really loved the sketch - it really took me out of my comfort zone.  I had trouble with embellishments, so I left it somewhat plain.  I still like it though. We had to use Kraft cardstock and one metal embellishment.

Here is my layout and the sketch.

Laid Off

So, I got laid off on April 3rd.  Spent two weeks crying every day. I loved my job and most of the people there.  The only thing that really sucked was the commute.  But, I put up with it for 19 years because I was so happy there.

Then I decided to:
#1 - look at it like I was on vacation for a little while.  So I have been doing a lot of scrapbooking!
#2 - look at it as an opportunity to find a new job with a better commute.

Only problem is with every company out there doing layoffs, it has been so hard to even get an interview!  Really does beat up your self-confidence.  Hopefully this too shall pass.

Working at Home

Day 7 of working at home because of social distancing.  I thought I would like it more than I do.  The best part is no traffic- so I am home in time for dinner! I totally don't feel productive, though.  I hate using the laptop to type - I miss my external keyboard.  And I really miss my dual monitors.  I am trying to make do with keeping my own personal laptop on email and using my work laptop for everything else.  It's a weird time.

Hello

I basically just set this up to post a picture. We'll see how it goes.

I did this layout for the Scrap Our Stash March Challenge.  I have been trying to figure out a way to use this collection for a long time.  It is from Graphic 45 Raining Cats and Dogs.  I have used this collection a lot for mini albums, but just never could get inspired for a layout.  Then when I saw the sketch, and it required a plaid, I just knew!  The crazy thing is that I won this collection from Graphic 45 when I posted about Gloria.  Of course, it was a random drawing, but I truly believe she brought me luck.  So it was just natural that I did the layout about her.

Check out the Scrap Our Stash Blog to see more entries.  They are all inspirational!
